Giving

You can help The Federated Church of Hyannis shine the light of faith and hope by giving financially.

There are several ways of giving:

• You can mail checks to the church or deliver them during office hours.
• You can donate online through our website by clicking the donate button.
• You can donate appreciated stock to the church.
• You can make a Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD) from a retirement plan.

For those of you with IRAs 401(k)s or 403(b)s, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).  To make a QCD, ask the holder of your retirement account to make out a check to the church.  They may mail it to you, or directly to the church, depending upon their internal rules.  We receive the check as a donation, but it does not get reported as income to you, so you will not have to pay tax on the withdrawal.  The important thing is to have your financial house make out the check directly to the Church and keep a record of that.

If you would like to donate appreciated stock, call the church office and leave a message for the Treasurer, or email treasurer@federatedchurch.org, for information as to how to transfer the stock to the church.

Your gift can be a general donation or designated to:

• Our missions
• Our Memorial Committee dedicated to someone special, for scholarships or the general fund
• For special building maintenance
• Our Growth Initiative Fund
